Thank you for your support!
A huge thank you to everyone who purchased items in 2012; with your wonderful support, we collected $450 for The Royal and the Canadian Cancer Society!
What is the Hope Collection?
The Hope Collection evolved from the fallout resulting from two very difficult personal situations:
In the fall of 2010 my father was diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic colon cancer. His unwavering positive outlook, his steadfast goal of becoming cancer-free, and his ongoing strength and determination to heal continue to be an inspiration and a source of hope to all of us.
In 2011 our family lost someone close to us to suicide. This individual will be forever missed by all who knew him. In the overwhelming "would've - could've - should've" shock that so many felt in the days after his death, many wondered how it was possible that someone who seemed to be so full of life and talent could be suffering from such a severe depression for so very long, with no one being aware of it.
Both of these events sent shock waves through those surrounding both of these gentlemen, and the resulting ripple effects have touched many, many lives. I wanted to find a way to help other people dealing with the same things. I thought that this could be it, and I developed the Hope Collection as a special line of jewelry dedicated to these two causes.
How does it work?
Originally, partial proceeds from sale of items within the Hope Collection line (and only within that line) were donated to charities supporting mental health awareness and cancer research. In 2012, this initiative was expanded to include partial proceeds from all Arcana Dea Design sales. The proceeds are collected throughout the year and a donation is made to each charity in December. In 2012, a total of $450.00 was collected and divided evenly between The Royal and the Canadian Cancer Society.
In 2013, Arcana Dea Design will be donating partial proceeds from all sales to The Royal (formerly known as the Royal Ottawa Foundation for Mental Health) in support of their ongoing efforts in mental health awareness, research and support.
How can I help?
You can help by helping to spread the word! If you have a minute, please share this page through Twitter, Facebook, or any other site you like to share news on. Tell your friends and family about it. The more traffic we can generate, the more funds we are likely to raise for this great cause! Thank you! :-)
Together, we can help. Together, we can be the light, be the change, and be the difference.
